We had the one room with a little balcony overlooking the cafe-filled square. It was a lovely place to eat the breakfast they served. It's a lively, area with lots of inexpensive places to eat. Less upscale than other areas I've stayed in within Paris, but it was perfect for one night before taking TGV west from Gare Montparnasse.
Overlooking a bustling, small square, it was picturesque but noisy.
Perfect location with many restaurants right in front of the hotel. 100meters from Montparnasse metro station. Beautiful Luxembourg gardens in walking distance.
Ideal location near to Gare Montparnasse. Spotlessly clean and the best thing of all for my daughter was the hairdrier! We liked our double aspect room. Very handy being able to leave our luggage on the day we checked out.
Good location in busy area, small, old fashioned hotel but spotlessly clean with good bathroom and breakfast in room. Close to Montparnasse station, goood for travelling through Paris by train and not far from tourist sights.
The room was very spacious and clean, and the location was arguably the best in the whole of paris. The odessa street has tons and tons of restaurants. We bought our breakfast at a pastry store on the street (8 euros for 4 people), and dinner from the indian & lebanese places (under 20 euro for 4 people). Montparnasse metro stop has metros to all places in paris. There was no A/C but it was windy outside, so we left the windows open during the day, and closed it in the night to block off the noise from the street.
No safe in the room.
Very good location - close to everything, several metro stations near hotel. You are absolutely in the heart of Monparnasse and surrounding are full of resporants and shops. The rooms seem to be recently renovated - very clean spacious bathroom and toilet is separatly from bathroom. The room is small but nice, the bed is comfortanble. Good noise protection (if the window is closed - but see below!).
When the wheather is hot and you have to keep the windows opened for night, you cannot sleep. Very noisy until very late night (two big restorants just in the same and opposie buildings) and early morning is noisy as well. Can be recommended, but not in hot summer time.
Staff at reception is very courteous, location is fantastic close to two Metro stations and lots of restaurants right there. Romm was very clean.
Small rooms, but typical about Paris. The lift and corridor is very small for movement with luggage.
Wonderful location. Steps away fom the train station. Surrounded by restaurants and cafes. On the weekend there were markets. Wonderful.
Plastic undersheet on the bed was just not nice. The bed had a huge slope to one side so was very uncomfortable. Heating did not come on so the room was cold. The bathroom is bright and new, however it quickly becomes obvious that it is not properly cleaned. The bath had tide marks and the base was grey. The toilet looked clean but smelled like a bad public toilet. There were quite a lot of back hairs in the bedding and in the bathroom.
Great location for Montparnasse station. The hotel is less than a minute walk outside the underground station. Friendly hotel staff, spoke good English.
A little noisy in the evening perhaps (we had a corner room overlooking the cafes, and had to have the window open because it was so warm).
The location of the hotel is among a number of traditional cafes in Paris.
The rooms are not airconditioned. They provided the room with a stand fan. No resturant or dining area, they cater the breakfest (if requested) to the rooms from the cafe next door. The lift was out of order for 3 days out of 5 days was our stay in the hotel and we had to carry the baggages from the 4th floor to the ground floor due to staff shortage.
I liked everything about this hotel, really -- extremely well located, surrounded by cafes and bistros with the famous Parisian atmosphere, with the Monoprix supermarket nearby and the Montparnasse La Fayette shopping centre just around the corner, as well as the Montparnasse Tower with its wonderful 56th floor panoramic view, which should not be missed! The metro station (Edgar Quinet) was just across the street (and the Montparnasse railway station was also 5 minutes away by foot), so that we could get to any place we wanted in no time at all. We really enjoyed our room (for four on the third floor), which was very clean and quite spacious with very comfortable beds and a very large bathroom. The hotel staff has been extremely polite and helpful throughout our entire stay.
Nothing really, except maybe for the lift which is rather small (can only accommodate 2 persons). Also, a balcony to better enjoy the view would have been nice, but the large window was actually fine.
Excellent location at a good price. Good value breakfast. Clean room. Friendly staff.
Lack of breakfast room - the (optional) good value breakfast is brought to your room. Staying during 35 degree heat did make us wish for air conditioning!
Hotel was in fabulous location lots of bars and restaurants within walking distance as was the montparnasse tower with its restaurant on the 56th floor hence enjoying a romantic dinner overlooking paris and the eiffel tower at night with the spectacular light show on the hour every hour. The rooms were on the small side but adequate for a two night break and the tiny balcony was lovely enjoying a bottle of champagne whilst listening to the street entertainers and music. All in all would definately choose this hotel again for a parisean break with my partner !
It seemed strange not having a shower curtain hence bathroom floor gets a little wet, but I think thats just a french thing !!
The hotel is in an ideal location, situated next to 2 metro stations that give easy access to the major tourist spots of Paris. We stayed in a family room, which was a decent size. The room was cleaned daily, beds made and towels changed. The room had a/c which was good as it was really hot in Paris. We paid 460 Euros for 4 nights stay. staff were very friendly and helpful. Our flight was late and we arrived after the reception was due to close at midnight but we rang the hotel and there was someone to check us in on arrival. Would definitely stay there again...budget rooms at a reasonable price in a great location.
No shower curtain. There were some renovations going on during our stay. Tiny lift...justs fits 2 people. Cafe below hotel is very expensive...9 Euro for a pint of lager.
- Excellent location: hotel is surrounded by restaurants and pubs. There is a supermarket and a large shopping centre nearby and also a few bus and metro stations. - Reasonable price - Free wifi: Although it was not easily available at my room, but it was very useful to have it even in the hallway.
- Very small elevator (2 people max.) - Very small beds - Bed sheets were clean but the duvet not so much
